Susan Gaines
Welcome
Columnist, journalist and fitness trainer, Susan Gaines is driven by the belief that movement is another kind of language. Through the body we can express, communicate and ultimately transform who we are. She writes often about this potential and offers the possibility through her work as martial arts and Gyrotonic® trainer.
She is available for magazine and corporate assignments as well as Gyrotonic® instruction.

Her personal journey as a third-degree black belt in tae kwon do and now a certified Gyrotonic® instructor uniquely positions her to write about fitness from the perspective of personal growth as well as from a scientific, how-to angle. She tackles the science side in Minnesota Medicine and some more nebulous combinations in Experience Life. As Health + Fitness columnist and blogger for METRO magazine and several other Tiger Oak Publications.
Susan has been writing on assignment for a wide range of publications for 20 years. Her work has appeared nationally in Better Homes + Gardens and Redbook, and widely in the Twin Cities area. Throughout her 20-year career as a freelance journalist, she has gracefully tackled subjects in the arts, medicine, parenting and psychology.
